The project began with a typical Mediterranean interior, heavy in tone and defined more by finish than by structure.

The approach was not to replace one style with another, but to reduce and clarify and allow light, proportion, and material to reframe the space.

Rather than layering additional material, the palette was reduced.

White plaster, dark wood, and controlled contrast replaced the original variation, allowing the space to read as a whole rather than a collection of elements.
